You Can Now Adjust Your Vocal Volume After You Post

Edit Recording is here! Fine-tune your mix without re-recording.

We’ve all been there. You record something you love, hit publish, and then while listening back, realize your voice is a little too quiet, or a little too loud against the music. Up until now, your options were to leave it or delete it.

That changes today.

What’s New

We’re introducing Edit Recording, a new VIP feature that lets you go back to any published performance and adjust your vocal volume. No re-recording, no starting over. Open the recording, move the slider, and save. We’ll take care of the rest.

It’s a small change that makes a real difference, especially for duet recordings, where vocal balance between two parts can be tricky to get right the first time.

Here’s how to use it:

1. Find a performance you want to adjust — your own Solo, Duet Invite, or Duet Join.

2. Tap the overflow menu (•••) in Now Playing, or access it from your Profile.

3. Select Edit Recording.

4. Use the slider to raise or lower your vocal volume. Your previous setting is pre-loaded so you can always reset. Note: there’s no real-time preview. Once you make your adjustment, you’re ready to save your changes.

5. Tap Save — your performance will be processed and updated shortly.

How it works across performance types

For Duet Invites: your volume adjustment applies to the invite going forward, but won’t affect joins that have already been recorded.

For Duet Joins: you’re only ever adjusting your own vocal layer. The invite’s vocals stay at their original level — that part isn’t yours to change, and it won’t be touched.

Support for Group performances is coming soon. It’ll work a bit differently — the group invite owner will have full control over all layers, including the ability to adjust vocal levels and remove individual layers, building on the existing control they already have over Group joins.

What else is coming

Edit Recording is launching as a beta, and vocal volume is just the start. Deeper functionality is on the way, including some cutting-edge enhancements and tools we’re really excited about. Stay tuned.

This feature is available for VIP members on iOS and Android. Make sure your app is updated to version 14.0.9+ for iOS or 12.8.9+ for Android to access Edit Recording. If you’re not a VIP yet and you tap Save, you’ll have the option to upgrade and your changes will be applied automatically once you do.
