Sing! Love Story with Sophia and Vinh

“And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times, it’s you, it’s you, you make me sing. You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything”

Read about Sophia and Vihn’s love story!

He [Vinh] started following me and sang many songs with me until I finally noticed and realized it. 🙂 I’m a huge Disney music fan and also like oldies. He has a fantastic voice for oldies, and he fell in love with my voice with L-O-V-E. He also likes Disney songs and had a great knack for singing Timon and Simba. So, I joined him on the song “The Way You Look Tonight.” That’s what made me swoon and “fall in love.”

We started first with messaging each other mostly through the app, but it became too long of a conversation and fairly public, so we exchanged emails and just found out anything and everything about each other. Eventually we Skyped each other, watching movies and TV shows together and talking/messaging throughout the day with each other. He would sing and dedicate special songs to me and sing-a-gram them to me. He hand wrote letters to me because even with emails he felt that handwritten letters are more sentimental. Every month he put together a care package of little gifts and surprises for me and mailed it out to me.

He first came to visit me in Seattle last year. Later that year, I flew out to Houston to see him. The first night he proposed to me in a room set up with candles to symbolize the song from the “Tangled” movie, “I See the Light,” and sang the song to me in person. From Texas, we flew out to Vietnam for vacation for two weeks, and he got to see his mom, whom he had not seen since he moved to the States at 11.

After we got back from vacation, he decided he wanted to move to Seattle to be closer to me and start our lives together rather than through a computer screen. So he arranged a work transfer and started the process to uprooting and moving closer to me.

Smule brought us together with songs because our heart songs were similar and unique to us.
