New Creative Features For Unique Smule Performances
We’re excited to announce a new set of Smule Styles, powered by Snap. These new Styles give you more ways to customize your videos with background effects and augmented reality (AR) elements like make-up, accessories, and character costumes! You can use them to transform your video in real time to create a one-of-a-kind performance every time you sing.
You’re going to love creating and sharing with new easy-to-apply Snap-powered Styles. Now you can spend more time singing and less time getting camera-ready. Just add a Snap-powered Style to achieve the look you want!
What are Smule Styles, Powered By Snap?
Smule Styles are made of elements like audio and visual effects, layouts and animated transitions, and now also include elements powered by Snap. We call the Snap-powered AR elements within Styles “Face FX.” You can choose Styles with themes and adjustable Face FX like beautifying filters and props to match your mood and create stand-out performances. You can even dress like characters from your favorite movies and musicals while you sing their songs with fun costume effects!
There are also Snap-powered elements that let you replace your background.
Now you can choose the perfect background for your song and create a more exciting visual experience! Use Snap-powered Styles to record cohesive duets and group performances with shared backgrounds so you can sing in the same virtual place with friends all over the world.
How Do The New Smule Styles Work?
Record with Snap-powered Styles by following these simple steps!
- Choose a song from the Songbook.
- Select a Style from the carousel. You can recognize Snap-powered Styles by the ghost logo in the bottom left corner of your screen.
- If your Snap-powered Style has Face FX, you can adjust them or turn them ON/OFF. Once you tap the up arrow, scroll to the settings marked by square silhouettes to turn the Face FX ON/OFF or use the slider to switch between different Face FX.
- Tap “Start” and sing!
Keep in mind, Snap-powered Styles are added to your video in real-time to make your performance unique. You won’t be able to change or remove your selection after you’ve started your recording.
- Join a song invite.
- Your background will automatically match the song invite’s Snap-powered Style background.
- If your Snap-powered Style has Face FX, you can adjust them or turn them ON/OFF. Once you tap the up arrow, scroll to the settings marked by square silhouettes to turn the Face FX ON/OFF or use the slider to switch between different Face FX.
- Tap “Start” and sing!
Don’t forget, when you’re joining a song invite with Snap-powered Styles applied, your background will reflect the song invite’s background. However, you’ll still be able to change your Face FX!
