Verified on Smule!

Verified on Smule? What does that mean?
If you see a check mark next to person’s name on Smule, you know their account has been verified. What’s that mean? It means that we’ve made sure they are who they say they are. There are actually two types of verification, and each has its own special check mark.

Types of Verification

Partner Artist
A Partner Artist check mark indicates the person is an official Smule partner artists, a professional artist who we collaborate with.

Verified Account
A Verified Account check mark indicates a verified account of a high-profile user. Generally, these are brands, celebrities, or others who are part of our ambassador program.

Smule launches first animated Partner Artist with Disney

What Can We Say Except You’re Welcome!

What do James Arthur, Demi Lovato, Luis Fonsi, and Maui, greatest Demigod in all the Pacific islands, aka Dwayne Johnson, all have in common?  That’s right, they are all Partner Artists on Smule and you can sing a duet with each of them on Smule’s app Sing! Karaoke. Yes, you heard right, you can now create your own music video duets with your favorite Disney animated characters.  Starting today, we are launching the hit “You’re Welcome,” from the movie Moana, performed by Dwyane Johnson’s character, Maui. The song was written by Tony®-, Emmy®- and Grammy®-winning songwriter/composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Every day, millions of users sing with each other and artists from across the world on Smule. We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Maui, Demigod, as the first animated Partner Artist and give users this unique opportunity to have an IRL musical experience with  one of their favorite Disney character.

We can’t wait to see your duets with Maui.  So what are you waiting for?  Get the Sing! Karaoke app by Smule available on both iOS and Google!

How to get the Video Styles if you don’t yet have access?!

How to get the Video Styles if you don’t yet have access?!

Ever wondered what it would be like if we could create music video styled videos on Smule? Well, we are getting there with VIDEO STYLES – a new feature on Sing! That allows you to be more expressive with videos. These videos are a combination of colors, transitions, effects, animations all while timing perfectly to the music! Right now, there are three different pre-made styles you can select from: #RioStyle, #OsloStyle, and #PetraStyle

We are slowly rolling out this feature to users, however we don’t want to overload our video processing technology by giving this feature to everyone.

Here are ways YOU can do right now to get the effect!

1) You can search #RioStyle, #OsloStyle, and #PetraStyle in the search box to find cool duets you can join, and the new styles will be applied.

2) You can join some power users right now!

Keep an eye out for upcoming video styles playlist and more videos! 🙂

Smule star Liam meets hero Shawn Mendes

Dream big, put yourself out there, and you never know who you’ll meet.

It’s not every day we get to tell a story like this one. Meet Liam, the talented 4-year-old who’s been taking Smule by storm:

Liam discovered his love for music at the ripe age of 2. When he’s not melting the hearts of the internet, Liam enjoys soccer, playing guitar, and rocking out to his favorite artists: Frank Sinatra, and Shawn Mendes.

Around 10 months ago during the #SingWithShawn event, Liam seized the moment & recorded this masterpiece:

The video swarmed social media, gaining millions of views, retweets, hearts & smiles. Guess who noticed?

On August 11th, with the help of loving parents Luke and Monika, Liam made it happen. Backstage at a show in Toronto, Liam was face-to-face with his idol Shawn.

We love Liam’s story, because it shows that he had the courage to reach for the stars. What’s Liam’s advice to others? Put yourself out there, make something, never stop singing. Actually, he’s more articulate than we are, Let’s hear it from the man himself:

Don’t forget to follow Liam on Instagram and Twitter — it’s only a matter of time before he’s selling out his own shows.
